The role
To maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, manage accounts payable and receivable, ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and support monthly/annual financial reporting within Envi Tech AL's environmental laboratory and consultancy operations.
What you will do
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions
- Process accounts payable: verify supplier invoices, prepare payment schedules, and execute timely payments
- Manage accounts receivable: issue client invoices, monitor outstanding payments, follow up on overdue accounts, and maintain debtor records
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Process employee expense claims and reimbursements in accordance with company policy
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (sales tax, income tax, withholding tax) to FBR
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements, trial balances, and management reports
- Maintain fixed asset register and calculate depreciation schedules
- Ensure compliance with Pakistani accounting standards, tax laws, and internal financial controls
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as required
- File and maintain financial documents, invoices, receipts, and contracts systematically
- Coordinate with laboratory and consultancy teams to track project-related costs and revenue
- Assist the Finance Manager with budget monitoring and variance analysis
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations
What we are looking for
- Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping and fundamental accounting principles
- Working knowledge of Pakistani tax regulations including sales tax, withholding tax, and income tax filing procedures
- Competence in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Peachtree, SAP, or similar ERP systems)
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu
- Understanding of accounts payable and receivable cycles
- Capability to prepare basic financial reports and reconciliations
- Professional integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information
Nice to have
- Familiarity with environmental sector financial operations or project-based accounting
- Experience with FBR e-filing portals and online tax submission systems
- Knowledge of IFRS or relevant Pakistani accounting standards
- Competence in financial analysis and variance reporting
- Experience in preparing documentation for ISO financial audits
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, macros, financial modelling)
- Understanding of petty cash management and internal control procedures

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Business Administration with Finance/Accounting major, or equivalent qualification. Partial completion of professional accounting certification (CA, ACCA, CIMA) is advantageous.
